Imke Frank, Cellistin

Stuttgart born Imke Frank started playing the cello at the age of seven and soon proved her extraordinary talent with solo performances and distinction.

Noticed by Boris Pergamenschikow at an early age, he invited her to join the prestigious solo class in Cologne.

She later pursued her studies with Heinrich Schiff and Thomas Demenga in Basel, where she obtained a soloist diploma with distinction.

 Prizewinnwer in the international competition " Vittorio GUI " in Florenz and the " Festival of the jeunes solistes "

 Winner of the Nicati – Competition for contemporain 2000, categorie soloists

 Imke Frank released a solo CD with works by Ligeti, Holliger, Demenga, Berio und Bach.

 Solocellist of the „Camerata Bern for many years, Member of the ISOS Quartet founded by Isabelle van Keulen ( ISOS Quartet released a CD of the Bruch Quartets)

Today, she performs regulary with the „absolut trio“ and  the Collegium Novum Zuerich,.

 She regulary performs as soloist with prestigious symphony orchestras throughout Europe, the U.S.A. and Asia and is invited to numerrous international music festivals.(Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, Delft Festival, Schleswig Holstein – Festival, Manchester Cellofestival, Viva Cello, Oleg Kagan Festival, Haendel Festspiele Halle....)

Among her chamber music partners are: Bettina Boller, Isabelle van Keulen, Patricia Kopatchinskaya, Thomas Demenga,Martina Schucan, Michael Collins , Vladimir Mendelssohn, Theo Anzelotti, Vertavo Quartett, Omar Zoboli and Gerard Wyss an Karl Leister.

 Imke Frank has already gained immence recognition for her interpretation of contemporary music as a soloist and a chamber music player.

The Cellist is famous for her enthusiastic interpretation of the cello concerts of the 20. and 21.Century.

 She performes regulary with the „absolut trio“ and  Collegium Novum Zuerich.

 Imke Frank released, among others,  a solo CD with works by Ligeti, Holliger, Demenga, Berio und Bach,and the DVD Freudenberg with music by Imke Fank.

In 2004 released a CD Produktion with works by Offenbach for two cellos.

Since autumn 2001 is Imke Frank Professor  at the Conservatorium Feldkirch (Austria)
